Huawei plans to launch a new HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy Edition this year, which is expected to be "Pure Blood". Although the system was previously predicted to be available by the end of the year, the latest news revealed that its internal schedule has been advanced to September, which means that autumn is expected to see the commercial launch of HarmonyOS NEXT, earlier than expected.

This upgrade is not limited to high-end straight-end mobile phones, but will also cover folding screen mobile phones, mid-range mobile phones, tablet computers and smart watches, marking that Huawei’s entire range of products will enter the era of "pure blood Hongmeng", and the system transformation will be fully rolled out.

Traditionally, September is the launch window for the new Huawei Mate series, so HarmonyOS NEXT is likely to debut with the Huawei Mate 70 series to open a new chapter.

Faced with the current situation that HarmonyOS NEXT does not support Android applications, Huawei is working hard to promote the development and adaptation of Hongmeng native applications. Through negotiations with leading application manufacturers one by one, and with the dual promotion of government support and financial incentives, more than 4,000 applications have been integrated into the Hongmeng ecosystem to ensure the wide adaptation of mainstream applications.

For a long time, "lack of core and soul" has been a major pain point in China’s technology field. "Core" represents the chip, and "soul" is the operating system. As an independently developed operating system, Hongmeng carries an important mission. 2023 will be a key year to determine whether it can form a tripartite situation with Android and iOS, and make China’s operating system go to the forefront of the world stage.
